* The bleed area is 1/4″ around all four edges, so the actual print size is 8.125 x 10.625.  When creating a full page with bleed, allow 1/2″ (1/4″ bleed + 1/4″ margin) between all four edges and the ‘live’ area of your ad to allow for slight inconsistencies in printing.

File Formats

For best results, please submit print ads in one of the following formats (in order of preference): PSD, PNG, PDF or high resolution jpeg. All formats should be at a resolution of at least 200-300 dpi (see the chart below). This will allow us some flexibility when laying out the content of the magazine.  All images should be in color, unless you’re really going for the black and white look, and may be either RGB or CMYK.

Your ad will run for the duration of your advertising terms. For example, a one-issue ad will run from the day the issue is published until the next issue is published.  A two-issue ad will run from the day the first issue is published until the third issue is published, and so on.

For more information, or for examples of the ad formats, you may refer to Google’s AdSense help files. After clicking the link, click the Plus sigin (+) next to the “Recommended” heading to expand the selection and view the examples.

Creating Your Own Ads

We highly recommend that you have an experienced graphic designer design your ad within the specifications listed above.  If you’re going it yourself, here are some things to keep in mind.

  • Using Microsoft Word for print ads does work, but it’s not advisable, especially for print ads larger than 1/4 page.  If you must use Word, save the file as a PDF and email us the PDF.
  • Resolution Hints PhotoshopWhen using Photoshop for print ads, make sure you image settings are accurate. The resolution should be at least 200-300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) at the appropriate print dimensions.  See the image to the right for an example a 1/4 page ad.
  • When including graphics from the internet, make sure their resolution is high enough so it doesn’t look blurry on screen, because it will look blurry in print too.  They too should be 200-300 dpi at the print dimensions you want them.  Also, make sure you have copyright or permission.

Terms and Methods of Payment

For Free

Gmail & Google Wallet – Send money though email! Simply sign in to your Google Wallet account (same as your Gmail account), link your credit card, debit card, or bank account, and send your money securely through Google’s servers for free. Contact us for more information.

Mail – You may mail a personal check, cashiers check, mail order, etc. to the address listed on your invoice.  We do not charge any additional fees for this method, but you will incur the cost of a stamp and envelope.

For a Fee

We accept payment via credit card; however, since we are charged a 3.5% fee to process the payments, we have to pass that fee on to our customers.  If you want to pay by credit card, give us a call and we’ll process your transaction over the phone.

A credit card is required to guarantee payment. Payment is due 30 days from the invoice date, or by the ad substitution deadline (25th), whichever comes first. If payment is not received by the due date, or unless other arrangements are made, we will charge your card for the full invoice amount plus the 3.5% credit card processing fee. If payment is subsequently made using another method, we will issue a refund.
